  I stop here whenever I need a burger.  Not a work of art or a over processed stack of chemicals.  A good burger that taste like what it is.  Meat and fixins on a bun.  Allen has a good old fashioned burger just like the one I used to ride my bike to when I was a kid.  Allen's hotdogs are among the best in town.  Hot dogs are tough around Winston because we have some of the best hot dogs in the country.  Back to the burger.  It's all meat with fresh toppings and a regular hamburger bun.  Not a kaiser roll or a chibbata bun, but a perfect white bread bun.  The crinkle cut fries are fantastic and of course you need to top it all off with a delicious milk shake.

  The food was good, nothing to write home about. It was prepared correctly and was hot.
  
  We didn't eat inside, but you can tell there has been a lack of renovations. Just the dilapidated atmosphere makes you feel gross there even if its clean or not.
  
  If the place kept up its appearance I think they'd have more business since the food isn't terrible and service was good even if conversation or customer interaction was very limited. We almost missed the place due to it looking shut down and with half a faded sign.
  
  Use to love this place as a kid. Lots of fond memories.

  If you're looking for a good, cheap, filling, and fast meal, then Allen's Dairy Treats is your spot. From the looks of it, Allen's has been in the same location for years. It is down Reynolda, a little past Yadkinville Road. It is nothing fancy and if you're looking for a Gourmet burger type place, this is nor for you. If you're looking for some local fast food, then this is a good option.
  
  I've been to Allen's Dairy Treats a number of times, and honestly the best thing about the place is the ice cream. The good news is that if you get one of their meal deals, then you  automatically get ice cream with every order. Their meal deals all run you around $5-$6. They include a sandwich of some sort (includes burgers and footlong hot dog), a drink, fries, and an ice cream. That is a ridiculous deal.
  
  Their foot long hot dogs are good. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely wouldn't stray away from them. The buns are toasted and crispy and the chili on top is pretty good. The fries here are very good because they make sure to get them extra crispy. The burgers are alright. I would opt for the hot dog. They sometimes overcook the burgers and they are pretty thin pieces of meat.
  
  Again, the ice cream is what you should come in for. They have a number of unique flavors. My favorites are the coffee and the butter pecan. You can get a milkshake, a sundae, a banana split, a cone, or just a cup full of your favorite ice cream. The service isn't over the top, but they are quick and friendly enough.
  
  The place is very old and run down, but it has a small town kind of charm to it. They have some memorabilia lining the walls, including some old Coca-Cola trays and a big advertisement of the King of Nascar himself, Richard Petty.
  
  The reason to come into Allen's Dairy Treats is to enjoy some great ice cream, get a big meal for a very reasonable price, and to support a local family owned business. No frills kind of place, but a good option if you live in the area.

  Great food at great prices. I mow lawns and one of my customers is near this place. So when I finish I go here and get the meal deal. The people are friendly and work fast. I would recommend this place.

  They've got a 90A rating here, and for goodness sake I can't understand how?  The place is a filthy mess with ceilings literally falling down!  The lights are barely working throughout the place, and the grease is very apparent!
  I've come here off/on for 30 years and it's a shame to see it as a shell of its former self.  The ice cream was the only thing I was willing to try today, and it has seen its better day too!  It's officially time to stick a fork in this place!
